PORT Freeport adopts FY26/27 budget

The Port Freeport Commission approved the Fiscal Year 2026/2027 budget and adopted a resolution maintaining a zero-tax rate for the third consecutive year, continuing the Port’s commitment to fiscal responsibility and financial independence.

Port Freeport achieved a zero-tax rate in 2024, marking the first time in its history that the Navigation District assessed no property taxes. Continued growth in Port operations and operating revenues has allowed the Port to fund operations, meet debt service obligations, and invest in strategic priorities without relying on local property tax revenue.
