Valenciaport strengthened its position in August as a port serving the Spanish economy’s import and export activities, although it experienced a decline as a transshipment port for traffic using its facilities to connect with other ports, particularly those in the Mediterranean. This is reflected in the figures from the Valencia Port Authority’s (APV) Statistical Bulletin for the month of August: 78,614 full containers destined for export were loaded at Valenciaport’s docks, 7.14% more than in August 2025, while full import containers totaled 94,888 TEUs, an increase of 6.30%.
In contrast, transit maritime traffic fell by 10.78%, a factor that influenced last month’s overall container figures, with a total of 467,089 TEUs handled—4.16% less than in August of the previous year.
