The 172.8-metre-long, 40.2-metre-wide vessel is bound for Buenaventura, Colombia, and has regularly transported cargo to Manzanillo.
The equipment investment comes as Contecon maintains a leading position in container throughput at Manzanillo. The operator handled 164,297 TEUs in August, placing it first among the port’s terminals for the month.
Contecon’s latest equipment additions are part of its ongoing programme to expand terminal capacity and modernise its facilities as container volumes through Manzanillo continue to grow.
The Manzanillo National Port System Administration (ASIPONA) said it continues to support improvements to the port’s administrative and operational processes, with the aim of maintaining Manzanillo’s position as a major gateway for Mexico and Latin American trade.
