Valenciaport has supported 62 companies that have submitted their projects to the PORTS 4.0 capital fund, promoted by the TradeTech ecosystem of Puertos del Estado to foster innovative technological solutions for the logistics-port sector. Companies within the port ecosystem have also carried out this facilitating role for challenges that extend beyond the Port Authority of Valencia.

This fund is designed as a financial instrument aimed at creating an open innovation ecosystem that enables engagement with, and understanding of, the challenges and operations of the logistics-port sector. In this way, it seeks to promote the development of innovative technological solutions to improve competitiveness, efficiency, sustainability, decarbonisation, and security, while also advancing digitalisation.
In this regard, it is designed to support entrepreneurs and companies, both national and international, that have innovative ideas or projects capable of transforming the logistics-port sector and trade in general. The initiative aims to enhance the sector’s efficiency, sustainability, and competitiveness by promoting projects with a clear market growth focus, including intrapreneurship projects within Port Authorities and Puertos del Estado.
Valenciaport doubles the number of companies supported
This new call of the Ports 4.0 fund, led by Puertos del Estado and the Port Authorities, has a budget of €6,750,000 for ideas and commercial projects. Of this amount, €750,000 will be allocated to the Ideas category, while €6,000,000 will be dedicated to Commercial Projects.
In the case of applications submitted via Valenciaport, there were 19 for the ‘Ideas’ category and 43 for the ‘Commercial’ category. These projects received support from the Valencia Port Authority for their submission; in the case of the commercial category, the Authority arranged 21 letters of support and 6 facilitation agreements. This represents a doubling of both the number of companies assisted and the number of letters of support issued, whilst facilitation agreements have increased by 50%. In the ‘Ideas’ section, Valenciaport has processed 16 letters of support, representing a 160% increase compared with the previous call for applications.
