CMA CGM has confirmed an upgrade to its CAGEMA service connecting Canada and the US with Latin America, including the addition of a direct call at Montreal, Canada.
Further content is only available for registered users.
The service will continue to call at Saint John, New Brunswick, while adding Montreal to expand its reach in the Canadian market.
According to the company, the update will provide a direct connection from these ports to key markets in Jamaica, the Dominican Republic and Puerto Rico.
CMA CGM added that the service will offer coverage of Latin American destinations via its Kingston hub, supported by dedicated weekly services.
The carrier also stated that the service will provide connections with India, Türkiye, the Mediterranean, Oceania and the Middle East via New York through five direct CMA CGM services. These will offer a weekly fixed-day schedule, with calls in Montreal on Sundays and Saint John on Fridays.
Connections with Asia will be available via Kingston.
The company noted that the service will offer short transit times for imports into Montreal from Latin American origins, allowing sensitive goods to reach Canadian destinations faster, more efficiently and with greater reliability compared to the solution via New York.
The upgraded CAGEMA service will operate on a weekly basis using a fleet of five CMA CGM operated vessels.
