Construction of cofferdam for Panama Canal on track

The 1.8km-long cofferdam that will hold back the Panama Canal's Miraflores Lake is on track for completion in April. Miraflores Lake, the man-made lake between the Miraflores locks and Pedro Miguel locks will be held back by the backfilled cellular cofferdam. Once the cofferdam is finished, excavation of around 26 million cubic meters of material in the access-channel route can proceed as well as the construction of a permanent, USD70 million, clay-core, basalt-rock-filled dam.

Rohde Nielsen A/S awarded dredging contract

Danish-dredging contractor Rohde Nielsen has been awarded a USD 378.000 contract for maintenance dredging in Klaipeda State Seaport, Lithuania.

Vahle receives substantial order for Turkish Container Port Mardas

Cavotec to supply MoorMaster to Karara Mining Ltd

ENVIRON appointed on Georgia's largest container freight port development

International environmental consultancy ENVIRON has been appointed to conduct the Environmental and Social Impact Assessments (ESIA) for the Port of Poti development on Georgia's Black Sea coast, the country's largest container freight port development. The proposed port will be developed, using a phased approach to align with the increasing demand, on 100ha of land north of the current port.
