Portunus Sales Manager Onder Turker said: “Apart from the contract, we give our word to our customers to finish a job that we start. For this project, we had worked on all necessary security precautions and kept working on the site. Our company policies would never let us leave the work unfinished.” This project consists of refurbishing N.4 Reggiane rubber tyred gantry cranes (RTG). These cranes had been stripped and parts dismantled, from spreaders to load cells. Main components had been temporarily imported to Portunus workshops in Turkey and after overhauling, all parts had been sent back to Aden. Currently, Portunus engineers and technicians are finalising the job despite the risks of working in the region. Commenting on the challenge Turker said: “If you work with full concentration on your job with total respect for local citizens, people all over the world understand your position and pay respect to you.
