Karaikal Port adds container handling services to its cargo-mix

The event marked the start of a regular container feeder services to MARG Karaikal Port – thereby, linking the port to overseas import and export destinations through the transhipment hub of Colombo besides offering connectivity to domestic destinations such as Visakhapatnam to facilitate and promote coastal movement of cargo within the country. The ship came from Paradip, and 20 containers were loaded to the ship at the port. The port has a full suite of capable equipment for handling containers including three Liebherr mobile harbour cranes, reach stackers.
