Three 40-foot containers fell into the water at the Port of Los Angeles, resulting in a response from local emergency services and the US Coast Guard.
The incident took place near Berth 302. Coast Guard Sector Los Angeles-Long Beach said it was alerted at approximately 11:20 am local time.

The US Coast Guard deployed personnel from Station Los Angeles-Long Beach and established a 400-yard safety zone around the affected area.
In its 15 September update, the Coast Guard said two containers remained submerged, with their locations marked, while the third has been recovered from the water.
The Los Angeles City Fire Department and Los Angeles Port Police are also responding to the incident. The vessel’s cargo manifest lists the contents of the three containers as non-hazardous.
The Coast Guard’s statement did not specify the cause of the incident or whether cargo-handling operations at the berth had been affected.
