WatchStander LLC, a maritime security systems company, announced that it has completed development of a fully automated system designed to prevent gangs of pirates and other unwanted individuals or groups from boarding ships.

Port Everglades officials are encouraged after the House of Representatives passed the Water Resources Reform and Development Act (WRRDA) this week by a vote of 417-3, including the Manager's Amendment which would allow Port Everglades to move forward with its critical harbor deepening and widening project prior to formal congressional approval.

The Port of Dover has now re-opened and ferry services have resumed from the Eastern Docks with the Port's tugs in assistance to ensure the safety of its customers.  Whilst there has only been some relatively minor superficial damage to the Eastern Docks, the Western Docks bore the brunt of the storm with around 50 Fred Olsen cruise customer cars, parked at the terminal, being damaged by the severe seas overtopping breakwaters in the high winds which at times were gusting above 70 miles per hour.

We are pleased to confirm that the Port of Dover is now open (at 09:10 Hours) and the ferry services have resumed.

Due to adverse weather conditions (strong winds gusting at 65 knots) the Port of Dover is currently closed (as of 6.30hrs). The Port's 2013 third quarter results show that more customers are choosing the UK Port of Dover as their preferred cross-Channel partner.

All four of the super post-Panamax ship-to-shore cranes that arrived at the Port of Savannah in June are now fully operational at Georgia Ports Authority's Garden City Terminal.
